Do you dread Mondays? Do you stay up as late as you can, trying to soak up the last few minutes of a stress-free Sunday? Has your weekend gone too quickly?
Well lemme help you out! Sunday evenings can be bittersweet. Whether you like it or not, how you spend your Sunday evening can decide how the rest of your week turns out. Stay up past midnight binge-watching Netflix or gaming? Yeah, you’re gonna have a crappy week.
I have a soothing Sunday routine that ensures I can make the most of my week and get’s me pumped for waking up on Monday morning. Think of this as a Sunday weekly GRWM!
Is it really a Sunday evening if you haven’t gorged on a roast dinner and are now in a food coma in front of BBC1’s Countryfile? Now, I’m not an overly enthusiastic nature lover, but my parents love watching it so it has become part of my Sunday evening routine. It also allows “townies” like myself to get a virtual taste of life in the country.
- Hot Bath/Shower
The best way to enter the week is to feel clean and relaxed. My favourite way of doing this is with a long bath or shower on a Sunday evening. There’s something a little symbolic about washing away the dirt from the previous week, feeling ready for the week ahead.* It also removes the rushed and groggy shower that you may have on a Monday morning.
*I mean this in the figurative sense. I do of course, shower on more occasions than just a Sunday evening.*
- Pamper Yo’self!
There is nothing I love more on a Sunday evening than fully treating myself to a face mask, mini pedicure and full-body moisturising. I usually use a quick and easy peel-off face mask, followed by an eye-watering nose pore strip then a facial cleanse. Then I treat my feet to some fancy exfoliation and moisture, and soak my limbs in a thick layer of moisturiser. There’s no better feeling of bedsheets on clean, moisturised, sparkly skin.
- Get Organised
My diary is the key to being organised. Every Sunday evening, I write in the things I am doing for the following week. It’s important to know what you’ve got coming up just for mental peace of mind. Also, pack your bag and get your outfit ready for Monday morning. It saves a lot of time and you definitely won’t forget anything the next day.
- GREEN TEA 4 LYF
Before bed, I have a green tea with lemon. This just helps me to wind down and have some final peaceful minutes before bed time.
- Get an Early Night
For me, this is the most important part of my Sunday. I know that if I am not asleep before 11, I will be tired and cranky on Monday morning. Not the best way to start the week. Besides, what else is there to do on a Sunday night? The shops are closed, the TV listings are questionable and the rest of the world is already asleep.
My gym clothes are out and ready, my mug is empty and this blog post has come to an end. I hope you have all had a great Sunday evening and are looking forward to tomorrow.
What are your Sunday evening rituals? How do you get ready for the week?
