By Mexican, I mean food… Get your minds out of the gutter.
What’s my meal of choice? Mexican. All day, everyday. From a burrito at lunchtime, to fancy bottomless prosecco & Mexican brunch – I just can’t get enough. Luckily, I’m not the only Mexican fiend out there. With a best friend in tow, I’ve decided to check out some of the most rated Mexican restaurants across the city.
Our first Mexican of choice was Wahaca.
Nestled just off Oxford Street, my friend and I took full advantage of the cocktail menu. Being a fan of everything spicy, I went for the Jalapeña – pineapple and vodka “spiked” with a gentle warmth of jalapeño.
We decided to spice up our night some more with a starter of nachos. These weren’t just any nachos. Despite a few slightly questionable toppings (red cabbage?!), they were possibly the best nachos I have ever tasted. They were not overloaded like some places make them – every tortilla was combined with the optimum amount of topping, making every mouthful a delight.
As for mains – they have everything to choose from; enchiladas, burritos, fajitas… All the Mexican cuisine you could need. Of course, being the carb junkie that I am, I opted for a chicken burrito. Twist? It was toasted! Although a little bit crunchy, it did hold all the hot sauce in without it ending up dripping all the way down to my elbows – always a bonus.
Wahaca is definitely a winner in my book: 4/5 fire emojis.
Any suggestions as to where to try next?
